About Sophie

Accreditations
Sophie is the founder and owner of Calders Dog Behaviour and a fully qualified dog trainer with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (2020), a behaviour specialist and a Kids Around Dogs approved professional (2021).

Qualifications & Studies​
Sophie has a solid foundation in Zoology, specializing in animal behaviour through a 2.1 BSc Honours degree attained in 2012. Sophie is currently studying with the Animal Behaviour Training Council (ABTC) under her mentor Roz Pooley (The Mutty Professor) to become a clinical animal behaviourist (CAB).

With over 6 years of experience with dogs, Sophie continually expands her skill set and knowledge through a proactive approach to professional development.

Regular attendance at webinars and business conferences hosted by industry luminaries such as Victoria Stilwell, Michael Shikashio, Chirag Patel, and The Mutty Professor underscores her commitment to staying at the forefront of the field, ensuring she provides the most effective and up-to-date training solutions for both dogs and their owners.

Sophie is an ambassador for Pet Remedy, who promote the emotional well being of animals, and is a member of the UK Behaviour and Training Charter who ‘adhere to modern, scientific and positive methodology’.​

She loves exploring new places with her family and can usually be found wandering through forests or roaming heathland wildlife spotting with her dog Shadow, her son Archie and her husband James!
